Battlefield 3 beta launches today

Early access chokes servers
Today marks the release of the Battlefield 3 online multiplayer beta for Xbox 360 for those who purchased a copy of Medal of Honor: Limited or Tier 1 Edition.  Like most major online events, problems have occurred.

Players entitled to early access are to receive key codes via email connected to their EA account.  At the time of writing however, many (estimated thousands) of players are still waiting for emails to roll out including yours truly due to server problems.  Players waiting for their keys are told to contact EA support or the Battlefield forums to report their problem, but numerous complaints seem to be falling on deaf ears.  I spoke to an EA Support representative to which was told the following:

Hi, my name is ***. How may I help you?
Born2beSlicker: Ah, Hi. My name's Mark. I am going to unfortunately be talking to you about the Battlefield 3 beta access today like I'm sure every other customer you have had today.
Born2beSlicker: I was due a key code for today on Xbox 360. The Battlefield twitter account claims the EU emails have been sent out, yet I don't have one.
Born2beSlicker: That makes me sad. :(
***: I am really sorry for the delay.
***: I completely understand you. But there are so many customers who haven't received it. And servers are still sending the invitations.

Born2beSlicker: Is there anyway to confirm that I'm even on the list to receive the email? As the US codes are said to be rolling out soon which I am sure will cause EA even more headaches.
***: You need not to worry and I suggest you to wait for some more time.
***: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Born2beSlicker: Not really, no. I'm just hoping I can obtain information as to what's happening with the whole early access stuff today.
Born2beSlicker: Thank you for your time though.
***: You're welcome.
***: Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts support today. Have a great day! Bye and take care!

The people who did receive their code don't have it much better.  So far the beta has been plagued with connection issues and inability to find matches due to server overload.  It seems like "early access" may have been more trouble than it's worth.

The beta is due to be released for everybody Thursday 29th October on the Xbox Live Marketplace.  Let's hope things are smoother by then.
